We intended to submit a short film to Saigon Experimental 2023, exploring a park in Ha Dong near our studio.

Like many parks in Hanoi, Ho Trung Van is an "air conditioner" lake surronded by a concrete path and some trees. Due to water management, however, the lake has been cut off from the river that fed it, meaning it evaporates each summer, exploding with plant life. Our film was intended as a love letter to the accidentally beautiful, drawing on Hangzhou's famous "Ten Scenes of West Lake" to poetically explore the unloved, uncared and incidental places that define Hanoi's urban character.

Tragically, our computer broke and wiped the footage the day before editing was finished, and so we are left with the interviews, notes and script but no image. Please visit and enjoy the Lake/Park/Park/Lake if you have the chance.
